How To Restart iPod Touch
Though they are fairly bullet proof, sooner or later you will have to know how to restart your iPod touch. The hardware is solid on this media device but the software can get overwhelmed at times which causes the screen to freeze up. If you use the Safari browser to go online a lot and have been busy downloading apps, you are introducing all sorts of unknown factors into the operating system. Plus watching videos, instant messaging and stretching the software limitations will inevitably cause a screen freeze now and then. Luckily, this is an easy fix.
To restart your iPod touch, you will need:
- An iPod touch
- Fingers
- Computer karma
- Try turning it off. To restart your iPod touch, the first solution is to simply turn it off and turn it back on again. To do this, hold down the Sleep/Wake button on top until the red colored slider appears. Listen to the robot and slide your finger across it. In a moment or two, your iPod Touch should turn off. To turn it back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo.
- Restart sequence. If that did not help at all, you will have to use the alternative method to restart your iPod touch. To do this, hold down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button at the same time for about ten seconds. When the Apple logo appears, you have successfully restarted your iPod touch.
Tip:
- If your iPod Touch is constantly freezing up on you, restarting may only help initially. In some cases, you will have to use iTunes to restore it.
Warning:
- If you jailbreak your iPod touch and break it, Apple will do nothing useful but they might mock you.
