If you want to make it to the top of the mountain, you will need to know how to ride a ski lift when snowboarding. Riding a ski lift when snowboarding isn't very complicated, but it saves you a lot of walking, since the ski lift is the most convenient way to get back to the top of the mountain after snowboarding down.

To ride a ski lift when snowboarding, you will need:

  • A snowboard
  • A helmet
  • A ski pass
  1. Wait in line. As you may have noticed, skiing and snowboarding are fairly popular recreational activities. This means that you will probably be spending some time standing in line before you even get to the ski lift. When you are standing in line, remove your back foot from the bindings on your snowboard. This will allow you to push yourself as if you were on a skateboard, and is the easiest way to move through the line.
  2. Get ready for the chair. When you are the next person to get a chair, move forward, following the chair that picked up the people in front of you. Stand where they were standing and make sure your snowboard is parallel with the chair. Look over your shoulder and sit down when the chair approaches, scooting back and lowering the safety bar. You can also slip your foot that is out of the bindings underneath your snowboard so it isn't dangling off one foot.
  3. Enjoy the ride. The next step in riding a ski lift when snowboarding is enjoying the ride. If you are riding with other people, make conversation, especially if you haven't met them before, If you are alone, just enjoy the scenery.
  4. Get ready to get off. The last step in riding a ski lift when snowboarding is the disembarkation stage. When you approach the top of the ski lift, raise the safety bar so you are able to get out. Once you are on the landing platform, push yourself out of your seat with your snowboard facing forward. The use your free foot to push yourself clear of the chair like you did to move through the line. Now you know all there is about riding a ski lift when snowboarding.
