Looking for directions on how to run with Nike heart rate watches? All Nike heart rate watches require that you wear a heart rate transmitter while you are running. You do not need to run any differently while you are wearing Nike heart rate watches. All you need to do is strap on the transmitter and start your workout regime.

  1. Wearing The Heart Rate Transmitter. There is a heart rate transmitter included with all Nike heart rate watches. To place the heart rate transmitter on yourself, push the tab up through the slot and push it down to lock it in place. You will then need to position the transmitter just below your breastplate. Once you have positioned the transmitter, you can connect it together around your body by attaching the grooved portions of the transmitter to each other.
  2. Starting Your Workout. Now that you have attached the heart rate transmitter to yourself, you are ready to start your workout with your Nike heart rate watch. Nike heart rate watches require that you be in CHRON mode before you start running. You can enter CHRON mode by pressing the button left button on your Nike heart rate watch until CHRON is displayed on the watch screen. Once you are in CHRON mode, press the upper right button on your Nike heart rate watch to begin your workout.
  3. Stopping Your Workout. Nike heart rate watches will track your heart rate the entire time that you're running. When you have finished your run, you can stop your workout on your Nike heart rate watch by pressing the bottom right button on the watch. If you would like to view your heart rate data, you will need to enter DATA mode.

Tip: Nike recommends that you wet both grooved areas on the heart transmitter before you attach them to each other. This will ensure that the transmitter does not fall off while you are running.
