How To Save Our Relationship

Believe it or not, if you and your girlfriend have asked yourselves the question, “how to save our relationship,” then you have already taken a giant first step. Even the rockiest of relationships can be saved if both members are willing and committed to resolving the issues. Of course, it is never going to be easy. This is why a little bit advice on how to save your relationship may come in handy.

  1. Open the lines of communication. The key to every successful relationship is communication. How can you possibly expect your partner to consider your feelings, if you do not tell her how you feel? Of course, if you truly hope to save your relationship, you must realize that this is a two way street; and, you must actively and sincerely listen to her thoughts and concerns.
  2. Make note of any and all problems. The best way to save a failing relationship is to take pen and paper in hand, and, with the cooperation of your partner, begin taking note of any and all problems. By writing things down, you have a concrete idea of what exactly is troubling your relationship. Then, you can begin to attack these problems and find a solution.
  3. Do not rush progress. Now that you have identified the problems, you are on your way to saving your relationship. Still, it is important to not become frustrated by slow progress. You are attempting to change behaviors; and this is going to take some time. So, do not become frustrated with your partner. Recognize that they are attempting to change, and things are going to take time.
  4. Ignite a spark. The final key to saving a relationship is to not focus entirely on the bad. Sure, there are things you may want to change, but this should not stop you from enjoying your partner. Take her out, make a romantic gesture, laugh, and have a good time. The sooner you begin enjoying each other’s company, the easier it will be for the two of you to save your relationship.
