How To Sell A Classic Car
How to sell a classic car can be a lot easier by putting it up for sale on a classic car website. There are a lot of car buyers who frequently go online to look for classic cars, and there are plenty of sites you can choose from to place your car for sale. Before you sell a classic car, you want to try and find out what it is worth. There are many resources online where you can check the value of your classic car, so you may want to use more than one to get an average value.
- After you find the value of your classic car, determine your sales price. If the car is not worth as much as you thought, someone still may buy it for more than the book value if they want it bad enough. Price the car for a reasonable amount above the book value average you found. You can always come down a little if you find a buyer who is close to your price.
- Choose a classic car website and contact them to place your car for sale. They will ask you for all the pertinent information about the car, including when and where you bought it, how much you are selling the classic car for, and any special information about the car that can help them find you a buyer. They will also ask you for several pictures of the car, which you can probably upload to their website.
- Next, prepare your car in case it sells. Remove all of your valuables from the car, and make sure it is clean inside and out. Since you are about to sell a classic car, you may want to drive it a few more times so you can remember what it was like after you have sold it.
- If the website representative sells your car, finalize the transaction. They will tell you how to arrange for the car to be picked up, and what paperwork you need to transfer title to the new owner. The website will deduct their fee from the sales amount, and either wire you the net amount or mail you a cashiers check. Make sure to remember to remove your tag from the car, before the new owner takes delivery.
