Learning how to set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch is a pretty simple task. With the introduction of iOS 4, you can set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch for both the lock screen and the home screens. Previous versions of the iOS operating system allowed you to set a wallpaper for the device's lock screen only. Whether you wish to set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch or set your menu wallpaper on an iPhone, the same instructions here would apply.

To set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch, you will need:

  • An iPod Touch (third or fourth generation)
  • iOS 4 installed
  1. Upgrade to iOS 4. You will need iOS 4 installed to set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch.
  2. Open Settings on your iPod Touch. Look for a grey app icon with gears. It comes pre-installed by Apple.
  3. Navigate to Wallpaper. This menu item will be in the second group, just below Sounds and Brightness.
  4. Select your menu wallaper. You can use any picture in your photo library to set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch.
  5. Press the "Set" button to apply. Preview wallpapers until you find one you like, and then apply it instantly.

Tips: Without iOS 4, you will only be able to set your menu wallpaper on an iPod Touch for the lock screen, but not for the home screens. Only third and fourth generation iPod Touch devices support the iOS 4 operating system. You can still set the lock screen wallpaper on earlier devices and operating systems.
