How To Shave Pubic Area
Learning how to shave your pubic area can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. Many men prefer to shave this area for hygiene purposes or simply because it looks neater. Take your time, use a steady hand, and follow these easy steps to ensure a smooth result without injury.
Things You’ll Need:
- Clean, sharp razor
- Shaving cream
- Scissors
- Towel or washcloth
- Trim your pubic hair with scissors. Pulling the hair taut with your thumb and forefinger, use the other hand to carefully snip the hairs to about ¼” in length. Trimming the hair prevents the razor from clogging too much and allows for a closer, easier shave.
- Take a warm shower. Warm water opens and relaxes pores and softens coarse pubic hairs so they’ll be easier to remove. Let the water run over the entire pubic area for about five minutes.
- Apply a generous amount of shaving cream to the entire pubic area. Use one hand to pull skin taut while using the other hand to shave. Start by pulling up the shaft and shaving underneath it in a long, smooth downward motion. Lift each testicle and shave up the bottom of each one.
- Continue shaving the bikini line, lower stomach, and top of thighs. For the smoothest result, shave in the opposite direction of your pubic hair growth.
- Add more shaving cream as needed and continue shaving all areas until you achieve the desired result. Rinse under warm water and use your towel to remove the shaved pubic hairs and check your progress.
Tips:
- Purchase a razor with a pivoting head and a minimum of four blades for the closest shave.
- Use a shaving cream formulated for sensitive skin to minimize irritation.
