Learning how to shrink a cotton shirt is by far the easiest thing to do in a domestic setting. Usually, men living alone or abroad face such domestic problems when trying to do ordinary household chores. However, the procedure for shrinking a cotton shirt is very simple, as it does not require any expertise on behalf of the person or tools involved and can be done without the use of heavy machinery. Cotton is an easily available cloth in the market, which usually varies in material depending on the seasonal changes.

To shrink a cotton shirt, you will need:

  • A tub or container
  • Approximately three liters of tap water
  • A wash line
  1. Take a tub or container that can hold the quantity of water essential to shrink your cotton shirt. The container should preferably be plastic, though other types may work in a pinch.
  2. Fill the tub or container with water. Put the shirt in it so that it completely dips in the water. Place the container aside and let the cotton shirt soak in the water.
  3. In order to shrink the cotton shirt, it is important to dip it in water. However, you must also keep track of the time you spend on the process, otherwise the water might shrink the shirt out of its actual color. However, if the material of the shirt is of good quality, it should not lose its color.
  4. Put the shirt out to dry on a wash line and wait till it dries up. Once it has, your shirt will be shrunken. This is a simple and easy way to shrink a cotton shirt.
