If you want to challenge yourself as a bicycle rider, find out how to sign up for a bicycle road race. Make sure you have the necessary bike riding skills before you attempt to race. Besides the appropriate racing bicycle, you will need a helmet, gloves, a water container that fits on your bike and the proper attire. Train for a bicycle road race that is longer than the actual distance of the race you are entering so you can be competitive.
- Find out the fee for a bicycle road race you want to enter. Once you know the amount, be sure to look for the accepted methods of payment. If you are entering the race online, you will probably have to use a credit card. If you are paying at the race site, you may be able to use a check or cash.
- Get your ID number when you sign up for a bicycle road race. Most races give the riders a paper number, which you will pin to the back of your shirt. If you signed up online, find out if your number is going to be mailed to you, or if you have to pick it up at the race.
