  1. Obtain a pair of powder skis. If you don't want to purchase a special pair of skis designed for powder, visit a local ski shop. They may be able to rent you some skis specifically designed for use in snow.
  2. Position yourself at the top of the hill. For best results, start with a beginner's hill when first learning how to ski in deep powder. Gently push with your poles until you begin slowly moving down the hill. Make sure that your weight is centered over the the middle part of the skis.
  3. Before turning, make sure that you have obtained a decent speed. Turning at too slow of a speed in deep powder will cause you to fall.
  4. As you continue making your way down the hill, keep your shoulders square and your arms slightly in front of your body. This will allow for the greatest amount of balance.
  5. Finally, for optimal results when skiing in deep powder, make sure to maintain an athletic stance. Your feet should be a shoulder's width apart, with your knees bent slightly.
  6. Make sure to practice skiing in deep powder as often as you can. As with any new skill, practice makes perfect, and you'll only get better with time. After awhile, skiing in deep powder will become second nature to you.
