How To Ski On Snow Blades
Do you want to know how to ski on snow blades? There's a lot of fun involved in learning how to ski on snow blades, whether you are an experienced skier, snowboarder or you have never been in the snow before. Because of their size, controlling them is slightly more difficult than just walking on snow.
To learn how to ski on snow blades you will need:
- A pair of snow blades and ski boots. Ski poles are not necessary for snow blading.
- Regular skiing clothes.
The steps to ski on snow blades are:
- Choose a flat snowfield to start. It's better if it's not too crowded, as you may fall in your very first steps.
- Get familiar with the bindings; they are slightly different than those from regular skis. Wire bindings have a moving part on the front, so check how they work.
- Head up a beginner's lift and slowly start taking turns. You must keep your body in a slightly forward position, pressing on the front part of the boot to be able to turn and break.
- Turn by changing your weight from one blade to the other. As you get more familiar with the blades, start taking turns at higher speeds, and play with the blades' ability to turn on a glimpse.
- As you will not be using poles, make sure you have enough speed to complete the flat sections. You can also walk with your blades on, but it's always easier to slide.
- Use a helmet. There's no reason for not using a helmet that can protect you from many dangers, as well as keep your head warm.
It may seem quite difficult, but skiing on snow blades is really fun. Take your time, and gradually increase the slope's difficulty.
