Grinding is one of the coolest things to do on a snowboard, which makes learning how to snowboard grind on tables a blast. Grinding tables or any other object is a wild ride. Grinding a table provides a chance to shine and a chance to be daring. Learning how to grind table’s can be very challenging as well. There are several styles of tables you can learn to grind and they reside in several parts of the slopes. You need to employ caution and good judgment when grinding tables. Grinding tables pose many pitfalls but if you pull it off, well let’s just say Hell YA!
- Limber up and make sure your balance and skills are on spot. Never attempt a trick is you are off or you do not have the proper gear. Locate a table, picnic table or heavier dining style table is preferred.
- Board towards the table, gaining a moderate level of speed as you proceed. As you near the table take a side angle, do not board straight on.Lift your feet, with the binding secured on your snowboard your snowboard will lift.
- The goal here is to gain enough air so that you are over the table. Place the base of the snowboard on the edge of the table. Keep your arms out to maintain balance. So not lay into the table, you want to “float” along its edge.
- Run the base of the snowboard the length of the table. As you exit the grind turn towards the direction you are traveling. Even out the board and land flush.
Tip:
- Although this is an excellent showman stunt, you need to employ common sense. Be careful what tables you grind and where. Grinding in a crowd is irresponsible and grinding on unsecure or lightweight tables is dangerous.
