How To Spot Authentic Rolex Watches
Looking for information on how to spot authentic Rolex watches? Rolex watches carry a high price tag, which is why there are so many fakes out there. Con artists will try to sell you a fake Rolex at an affordable price, but they will try to make you believe that the Rolex watch is real. Rolex watches have a few features that you can look for, all of which will be discussed below.
- Hologram Stickers. All authentic Rolex watches will feature a hologram sticker. The hologram sticker on authentic Rolex watches will be 3D encoded. You will find the hologram sticker on the caseback of all authentic Rolex watches. When you view the hologram sticker, be sure that it has the 3D effect.
- Date Magnification. If you are looking at an authentic Rolex watch, you will notice that the cyclops on the watch magnifies the date by 2.5 times. A fake Rolex watch may not provide any date magnification at all, or may enlarge the date itself to give it an authentic look.
- Examine The Caseback. You must always examine the caseback when you are purchasing a Rolex watch. You will not find a Rolex watch that has a clear caseback. Unless you are buying a Ladies model Rolex or a Sea Dweller Rolex, an authentic Rolex will have a caseback that is free of any engravings. When you are viewing the caseback of a Rolex watch, you should also notice that there is a model reference number located just above the hologram sticker.
If you are unable to determine if a Rolex watch is real, take it to a jeweler. A jeweler will be able to use a loupe to look for micro-etched crystal on the watch.
