Learning how to start a car wash business can take a lot of your time and some funding. You will need a space for the business, a staff, and a continuing supply of customers with dirty cars to keep your business up and running. Following is advice on how to start a car wash business.

Steps

  1. First, find your location. The car wash business should not be located close to other similar businesses, as that is what will make it succeed: people in certain areas will likely visit the nearest car wash, so find a place, perhaps near businesses (as people may run out at lunch time to have their cars washed, or when they have spare time at the office) to start your business.
  2. Find funding for your car wash, if necessary. Look for potential investors, or take out a loan. Rent an old car wash space, or have a building constructed. You will need all of the specific washing equipment to clean cars, so get a building that can handle all of the necessary tasks.
  3. Next, staff your car wash, and advertise it. Show employees how to wash, and offer discounts or free washes at first, to attract positive attention to your business. Once you get a steady supply of customers, you may advertise in papers or on local TV stations.
  4. Consider utilizing tactics that will keep people coming back. For instance, a card which is stamped after each wash that allows that the a free wash is given after every five washes could motivate people to use your wash.
  5. Keep your wash up as long as you want. Offer discounts from time to time, and advertise as is necessary, and you can make it with your business as long as you keep washing cars.

Learning how to start a car wash business takes some time, and many considerations must be addressed. Once you have your business up and running, all that you need to do is keep customers coming in, and you will be fine.
