How To Stop Binge Drinking

No matter how old you are, it's a good idea to learn how to stop binge drinking. Binge drinking is pointless and often harmful to your body and your life. Binge drinking often means you don't remember the night in any detail, so why bother binge drinking in the first place? Whether you're in high school, college, or adulthood, you should know how to stop binge drinking. Below, you will find helpful suggestions on how to curb this habit. Before you try them out, however, always remember to ask yourself why you're binge drinking in the first place. If it's something deeper than a social environment, you may want to consider talking to someone you can trust. Here are the methods to stop binge drinking, but still be in a social, drinking atmosphere:

  1. Don't Have More than Two Drinks an Hour. This system will gradually bring your drinking down. Always be aware of how many drinks you've had. If you have had six, don't drink any more. Drink very slowly and very gradually. Try ordering heavier beers that fill you up faster.
  2. Stop Playing Drinking Games. Nothing is worse than the social pressure to competitively drink. The only way to avoid it is to not do it at all. You can still play some drinking games, but only the ones where you can drink at your own rate, such as Kings or beer pong with water cups.
  3. No Hard Alcohol. Just don't do it. Hard alcohol doesn't taste good and it doesn't do anything good. You want to stop binge drinking. Hard alcohol is a main component to binge drinking.
