A true gentleman knows how to store cigars. If you are a cigar smoker, then you would know that they would have to be stored properly. Cigars can last a very long time if they are stored under the right conditions. Follow these steps to begin properly storing your cigars.

  1. Store your cigars in normal room temperatures. Cigars surely should not be stored in extremely hot or cold temperatures. The cigars may not last to its full longevity. So make sure they are at safe temperatures at all time when stored.
  2. Keep your cigars dry. Never leave your cigars in a moist area. Doing so, could ruin the surface of the cigar. When the surface of the cigar is ruined, then tobacco could spill out of the cigar. When the tobacco is out of a cigar and not in a container of some sort, then it could lose potency very quickly. So make sure that the cigar stays dry at all times when it is being stored. Also, wet cigars are very fragile and could break apart with the slightest touch. It is best not to try and revive a broken cigar.
  3. Place cigars in a closed, dark container. Storing your cigars in a dark, isolated container, you could keep potency in your tobacco. That way, when you are ready to smoke them they could be as good as new. You could even wrap the cigars in plastic if you are really serious about keeping potency in your cigars. Wrapping plastic around the cigars will also increase longevity of the stored cigars.
