How To Street Skateboard
You may enjoy skateboarding but have no clue on how to street skateboard. Street skateboarding is a little more free and relaxed than traditional skateboarding. There are no real rules and it is largely based on creativity. If you are seeking individuality and a chance to display you true capabilities, street skateboarding is more than likely the right type of skateboarding for you. Here are some tips on how to street skateboard.
- Find a good area to skate. Since street skateboarding mainly involves using surfaces that are concrete or cement, you will more than likely be in areas such as roads and sidewalks. If you can, try to find an area that is spacious, and not overly crowded, like an old sidewalk. Also, try to find a smooth area to decrease your chances of getting injured.
- Be creative. You may have someone that you absolutely idolize as a street skateboarder. Don’t try to emulate everything they do though. It is good to ask them for advice and information but focus on making yourself stand out. If you feel that you aren’t good at doing certain tricks, try to put your own spin on them. Always remember that there is no one way to be a street skateboarder.
- Take risks. Street skateboarding isn’t like traditional skateboarding, so try to take risks. There is a difference between taking risks and being reckless, so try to be careful when you are street skateboarding. Wear a helmet and other protective gear especially when you are a beginner.
