If you do not perspire very much, you may want to learn how to sweat more. Sweating is how the body cools itself off, and some people naturally sweat less than others. If you want to sweat more, there are some things that you can try to help your body turn up the heat.

  1. Drink more caffeine when you want to sweat more. If you like coffee or soda, even though they are not the healthiest drinks around they can help you to sweat more. Drink a few cups of coffee or bottles of soda and see if that causes you to sweat more. Alcohol also causes you to sweat, so you can try that as well but only in a safe environment.
  2. Eat spicy foods when you want to sweat more. Try eating foods such as chili, Mexican food or spicy Italian dishes. Because the food is spicy your body thinks it is getting hotter and you start to sweat more. Use this method in moderation if you are on a diet, or you can just exercise more to help burn off the excess calories you consume from the spicy foods.
  3. Change the thermostat to a hotter setting. If you make it hotter inside you will sweat more as your body tries to stay cool. In the summer, this can actually save you some money since you will not be running the air conditioning as much. In the winter though, your heating bill will rise if you try to sweat more by making it hotter inside.
  4. Wear more layers of clothing to sweat more. It does not matter what time of year it is, if you wear enough clothes, you will sweat more. Wearing two or three pairs of socks is one trick to try. You can also try wearing a full tee shirt underneath your regular shirt to help you sweat more.
