How To Take A 1999 Volkswawgen Jetta Door Panel Apart
You can learn how to take a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta door panel apart with common tools around your home. May it be due to replacement or repair, a little knowledge of how to remove your vehicle’s door panel isn’t bad and may even save you the labor cost. Here’s a simple guide on how to take a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta door panel apart.
What you need:
Flat head screwdriver
Disassembly Pliers or Flat nose pliers
Switch the Volkswagen Jetta engine off. Disconnect the battery ground strap.
Remove the window recess seal and recess. The seal is snapped in and installed for easy removal.
Use the flat head screwdriver and insert it in between the panel and grip recess. Detach the upper partition from the lower partition of the grip recess.
Take out the grip recess to remove it from the door panel. Do not press the grip depression while you take it out or the brace may be damaged.
Push the locking lug against the connector to remove a total of three connectors.
Unscrew the door panel. The screws are located at the bottom of the door panel. Then, using the pliers, carefully remove the door panel upward.
Using a flat screwdriver, unclip the cable guide. Then remove the bracket, the cable hook and disconnect the wiring connectors.
For the Volkswagen Jetta passenger and rear doors, detach the trim from the handle using the flat head screwdrivers.
Unscrew the handle and the door panel. Lift the door panel upward.
Disconnect and remove cables and wirings. Follow the same procedure with the driver’s door.
Remove the window recess seal and recess. Reverse steps for the installing procedure.
Inspect all clips around the door panel for a need of replacement.
Use a sharp flat hear screwdriver since the partitions on the door panels are slim. Avoid scratching the door panel’s surface.
Once the batter is reconnected, check all the vehicle equipment functions.
Take note of the radio code before disconnecting the battery.
