How to Take Cialis

If you have been prescribed Cialis (also known as Tadalafil) for erectile dysfunction, you may need to know how to take Cialis. Cialis is one of the most commonly prescribed medications for men suffering from erectile dysfunction. These instructions will help you understand how to take Cialis:

  1. Discuss your erectile dysfunction condition with a physician to determine if Cialis is an appropriate treatment. Cialis is only available with a prescription, and it is not safe for everyone to take. Be honest and discuss your medical history openly with your doctor to prevent harmful side effects. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about how to take Cialis in manner that is most effective for you.
  2. As-needed use. Certain dosages of Cialis have been shown to improve erectile function for a 36-hour period. If you and your doctor decide on this method, take one pill prior to sex at the dosage and timing prescribed. Never take more than one pill daily; contact your physician if you have taken more.
  3. Daily use: Cialis offers a low-dose tablet for everyday use, shown to be effective at improving erections for most men. Take one tablet at the prescribed dose at the same time each day. If you forget to take your pill, take it as soon as you remember, but never take more than one pill per day. If you take Cialis for daily use, it may require four to five days of proper usage to take effect.
  4. Learn to recognize side effects of Cialis. Most side effects of Cialis are mild to moderate and go away within hours. It is important, however, to learn the risks and to know when medical assistance or advice are needed.

Tips & Warnings:

  • For safety, speak to a doctor or pharmacist about dosage and side effects of Cialis.
