How To Talk To Kids About Sex
Looking for information on how to talk to kids about sex? Unfortunately, talking to kids about sex can be very difficult. However, for the well being of your kids, it is something that has to be done. Although it is never too late to begin talking to kids about sex, you should begin discussing sex with your children in their early childhood.
- Different Types Of Sex. When you sit your kids down to talk about sex, you should discuss all of the types of sex with your kids. That means talking about vaginal sex, oral sex, and anal sex. All types of sex can carry risks of sexually transmitted diseases, so your kids need to have all of the facts so that they can make adult decisions when it is time for them to have sex.
- Don't Leave Anything Out. Kids are curious, and although it might be awkward for you, don't leave anything out during your sex talk. If your kids want to talk about sexual fantasies and masturbation, don't brush that topic aside. Too many parents tell their kids that masturbation is not right, which is only going to encourage kids to want to masturbate even more.
- Current Events. Drawing current events into your sex talk with your kids can make the discussion go a whole lot easier. For example, if there is a movie that is currently out that involves teenage aged kids and sex, take your kids to see that movie and then have a discussion about it afterwards. Movies that are about teen pregnancy are great learning opportunities for your kids, as well.
Tips:
- Do not ever turn your kids away if they want to talk about sex with you. The best way for kids to learn about sex is to discuss sex with their parents.
