How To Tape An Indoor Field Hockey Stick

Knowing how to tape an indoor field hockey stick correctly is an essential part of playing indoor field hockey. You may not be the best indoor field hockey player, but you should at least know how to tape an indoor field hockey stick. Here are a few steps that will make you a pro at taping indoor field hockey sticks.

To tape an indoor field hockey stick, you will need:
  • Black cloth field hockey stick tape
  1. Start at the end. Begin wrapping the tape around the end of the blade. Once you have done this, continue wrapping at an angle. This is to make sure that there is a little bit of an overlap each time you wrap the tape around the stick.
  2. Make sure that the tape is flat. As you wrap the tape around the blade, make sure that you press the tape down so that it is as flat as can be.
  3. Don’t forget the handle. Start around six inches down the handle, and wrap the tape around it. Once you get to the top, wrap an excess amount of tape around the top so that there is a thickness. This thickness will help prevent your hand from slipping as you use the indoor field hockey stick.
Try and avoid rushing this so that the tape does not look sloppy. Do not decide to tape your indoor field hockey stick five minutes before practice unless you are good at it. Now that you know how to tape an indoor field hockey stick, you can put your skills to use.
