Knowing how to tape roller hockey sticks is essentially one of the most important things about roller hockey. You don’t have to be the best at roller hockey, but you should at least try and learn how to tape roller hockey sticks. Doing so will make your roller hockey playing life that much easier. Here are a couple steps that will help you get better at taping roller hockey sticks.
- Roller hockey tape
- Start from the bottom up. You will be able to generate a better grip on your roller hockey stick by placing tape on the blade. To do this, start from the bottom up. Wrap the tape around the blade a few times then work at an angle. Wrap the tape in an angle so that a portion of the tape overlaps with the previous tape that you’ve wrapped. It is up to you to decide how much of an overlap that you really want.
- Finish. You can finish your wrapping by making the handle thicker. Do this by wrapping the tape around it many more times than the other section of the stick. The thickness that you have at the handle will allow you to grip the stick without it slipping from your hand.
