How To Throw A Bowling Ball
Want to learn how to throw a bowling ball? The right technique can really make a different when you're bowling. A few adjustments can improve your bowling score. Read on to find out how to throw a bowling ball.
How to throw a bowling ball:
- Insert fingers. Bowling balls are drilled so that they fit your hand properly. Your fingers should fit into the hole-and not be too tight or too loose. If you have your own bowling ball, you should have it drilled. Ask at the bowling alley as they usually offer this service or know where you can have drilling done. The thumb goes in the one hole and the middle and the pinky fingers go into the other two holes in the bowling ball.
- Hold the ball up in front of you. With your fingers still in the ball, hold it up in front of your chest and steady it with the other hand.
- Get your footing. If you're right handed, start with your left foot and step forward three steps. If you're left handed, start with your right foot and step forward three steps up to the line on the lane. This is where you throw the bowling ball towards the pins.
- Release the ball. After taking your three steps up to the line, bend over and throw the ball forward towards the pins. Let it release from your fingers. Throw it down the lane. Do not throw up into the air. It should be thrown forward so that it rolls down the lane towards the pins. You are trying to hit as many pins as possible.
