How To Tie An Ascot

Learning how to tie an ascot can be an important part of a man's life. An ascot tie is a symbol of which can be very important for social functions. Ascot ties can also set a person apart because they aren't as common as other ties. The most important thing to remember when practicing how to tie an ascot is to be patient. It takes time to master. There are two popular ways to tie an ascot.

Method 1:

  1. Place the right end of the ascot about six inches below the left.
  2. Take the right end and cross it over the left and then loop it under the left end of the ascot.

  3. Continue to loop the right end of the ascot around the left once more.

  4. Pull the right end through the loop created at the neck. Tighten knot to personal comfort, be sure the knot looks natural against the neck.

  5. Put the right end over the left so that it covers it.

  6. Adjust the bib to cover the knot and then place the ascot points under the shirt.

Method 2:

  1. Place the left end of the ascot about six inches below the right.

  2. Take the left end and cross it over the left and then loop it under the right end of the ascot.

  3. Continue to loop the left end of the ascot around the right once more.

  4. Pull the left end through the loop created at the neck. Tighten knot until it feels natural against your neck, making sure it's to your comfort.

  5. Put the left end over the right so that it covers it.

  6. Adjust the bib to cover the knot and then place the ascot points under the shirt.

It is a matter of preference which method you use. The looks will be slightly different depending on which method you use.
