Don't waste your time wondering how to tie a double windsor. The double windsor knot is one of the many popular tie knots. The double windsor is a large tie knot that has more of a triangular shape. Some people believe that the double windsor is a difficult knot to tie. However, it just takes a little practice to tie your knot without any problems.

To tie a double windsor, you will need:

  • neck tie
  • collard shirt
  1. Position your tie. When wearing a tie you should wear a collard shirt. To tie a double windsor, wrap your tie around your neck under your collar. Put the wider part of the tie across and above the narrow part of the tie. It should be placed at a 90 degree angle.
  2. Create your double windsor knot. To create your double windsor knot you will need to pull the wider part of the tie through the knot. Do this toward the right side of your collar. You will then need to pull the wide part behind the narrow part of the tie. Now repeat that step to the lift side of your collar. When tieing a windsor knot, you want both wrappings to remain in place. You can pull it to keep it in place. It's a good idea if you overlap both wrappings. You will be looking for a trangular shape to appear. Next, hold the loop open with your left hand. Pull the wide end of the tie through the loop and slowly pull it. Pull it until the windsor knot is tight.
  3. Complete the last touches. After you have tied your double windsor knot you should pull your collar down. Look in the mirror and tighten the tie accordingly. With the double windsor knot, your tie can look fashionable at any event.
