What you will need to tie hockey skates:
- Ice hockey skates
- Laces
The mechanics for tieing hockey skates:
- Place one end of the lace tip through the eyelet at the base of the skate
- Run the lace through the opposite eyelet and pull the laces upward
- Ensure the tips of the laces are even
- Place one tip in the opposite eyelet right above the base eyelet
- Place the other tip in the other eyelet forming an ‘X’
- Do this criss-cross action until you reach the point where the skate break at the ankle
- Now place the ice hockey skate on your foot
- Tighten the laces to a comfortable but firm across your foot
- Continue to lace up the ankle, usually this is two to three addition eyelets
- After each lacing tighten, stand and gauge the comfort level
- If required continue to lace until you have occupied all the eyelets
- From here cross the laces and wrap them around the area at the top of the skate (last eyelet you used)
- Once wrapped around pull tight and tie into a bow, do this twice
