The methods of tying a scarf for men are simple and require only a few steps. It is also one of the few articles of clothing that can be worn similarly by men and women, so you don't have to worry about looking feminine. However, there are three easy methods for tying men's scarves:

  1. Try the bow method. Place the scarf around your neck so that both sides are of equal length. Cross one end over the other and bring the end that is underneath through the opening from the front. The scarf should look like a loose bow. To tighten the scarf, hold the end that is underneath as you pull the other end upward. You can make the bow as tight as you like.
  2. Try the knot method. Place the scarf around your neck so that both sides are of equal length. Cross one end over the other and wrap the end that is underneath over the top end. Pull the same end through the opening from the back. The scarf should look like an unfinished knot in a tie. To tighten the scarf, hold the end that is underneath as you pull the other end upward. You can make the knot as tight as you like.
  3. Try the simple cross-over method. Place the scarf around your neck so both sides are of equal length. Cross one end over the other and tighten it so that the scarf is touching your neck. Swing both ends over your shoulder so they are resting on your back. Take the ends, cross them over each other, and bring the ends back to the front. Continue this process until you are satisfied with the amount of layers. When the last layer is complete, leave the loose ends in the front. Although this method is the least extravagant, it is the most efficient because the fabric is wrapped closely to the neck.
