Certain longboard tricks require the longboard trucks to be looser at times than others, but you will need to tighten your longboard truck for normal riding. Riding your longboard over long periods of time will cause for your trucks to get loose. Having tighter longboard trucks makes you ride smoother, and also helps to maintain your balance while riding. It is very easy to tighten longboard trucks and it only takes a couple of minutes.
To tighten longboard trucks you need:
- adjustable wrench
- flat surface
- Turn your longboard over. Flip your longboard over on its backside and lay the longboard down on a flat surface so that the wheels are facing upwards.
- Tighten the bolts. Locate the bolts on the longboard trucks of the board. Find the right size on you adjustable wrench that fits the bolt size on your longboard. Take your adjustable wrench and place it on the bolt. Turn the bolt to the right to tighten it with the wrench. Turning it just a few times will do.
- Test ride your longboard. Once you've tightened the bolts on the trucks, flip your longboard over on its frontside. Go for a ride on your longboard to make sure that it is smooth and the longboard trucks are tight enough. Make any adjustments to the trucks if needed.
