If you own an iPod Touch, then you need to know how to transfer music from the iPod Touch to a computer. This is a pretty simple process that once you do it one time, you will be able to go back and continuously do it as necessary. This process is the same for all models of the iPod Touch.

What you will need:

  • Mac with internet connection
  • USB cable for iPod touch
  • iPod Touch
  • Music to transfer
  1. Start by downloading Senuti onto your Mac. You cannot transfer music from the iPod Touch to the Mac without this application. To download Senuti, you will have to go to http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ and download the application and install it to begin the process of transferring music from your iPod Touch to your computer.
  2. Connect the iPod Touch to your computer using the USB cable that originally came with your iPod. Run the Senuti application and it should automatically detect and pull the music, movies, and photos from the iPod for you to sort through. This product will also compare songs that you already have in your iPod library so that you won’t have any duplicates on your Mac. Keep in mind that this specific application, if you use the trial version, you can only transfer 1,000 songs from your iPod touch to your Mac.
  3. Go through the list of songs that Senuti picked up from your iPod and select the ones that you want to transfer to your computer. If you would like to make this process go much faster, hold down the “control” key on your Mac keyboard and click the songs you want to transfer, then you will transfer all of the songs you pick at once instead of one at a time!
