How To Treat Bleeding Hemorrhoids

Learning how to treat bleeding hemorrhoids is not as difficult as one would think. Bleeding hemorrhoids flair up due to hard poop. Think of your anal canal as a tissue and poop as a knife. It is easily torn by the knife. Hard stool can rip the lining of the canal wall, but there are several things you may use to treat this problem and feel better.

Things you will need to treat bleeding hemorrhoids:

  • stool softeners
  • moist wipes
  • petroleum jelly
  • ibuprofen
  1. Stool Softeners.  This is a great way to treat bleeding hemorrhoids.  The first line of defense is to make the poop soft.  Stool softeners work best for this line of attack.  If hard stool irritates the problem, then soft stool shouldn't and doesn't.  Chocolate is a natural laxative.
  2. Baby Wipes.  You should try to avoid toilet paper since it is hard.  Baby wipes give relief by being softer and the cold moisture is refreshing.  It is also recommended to shower instead of wiping.  Showering is a great way to clean the area with the least amount of pressure and irritation to the area.
  3. Petroleum Jelly.  Use a cotton swab and put the petroleum jelly in and around your anus to protect as as well as lubricate it.  This will make is easier to pass stool.
  4.  Ibuprofen.  Ibuprofen has two benefits.  First, it is an anti inflammatory.  This will reduce swelling within the anal canal which causes less bleeding.  The second thing it is great for is the pain caused by the bleeding hemorrhoids.  Ibuprofen is a great pain reliever.
