How To Treat Lump On Epididymis

Men may find the need to know how to treat lumps on epididymis when they begin to experience painful lumps along the epididymis. The epididymis is a small tube that connects to the back of the testicles and collects and stores the sperm cells. 1.     Pharmacological treatment. 2.      Pain relievers are prescribed to treat pain. The patient who suffers a lump on the epididymis may be required to have bed rest, especially during the period of pain. When severe pain is present, doctors may use a local anesthesia injected into the spermatic cord. This will provide significant relief in pain management in lumps in the epididymis.

3.      The use of soft pads or bandages provide relief in the scrotal area. The scrotum gets inflamed once a lump grows along the epididymis and the use of a soft pad or bandage will give support on the scrotum for better comfort and relief. The use of a hot compress along the swollen area is often discouraged as the process could cause harmful consequences for sperm count. Alternatively, ice bags give better relief and soothes the pain. In the presence of severe inflammation, NSAIDS offers the best option for treatment.
