Need to know how to unlock an iPhone 3G? Sometime we switch network providers when it comes to our cellphone. We may want to find the best service that fits our needs at the time and that can vary. What becomes a problem is when we change providers we are sometime forced to change phones. when we have perfectly working phones. You will not have to do that if you are using an iPhone 3G. You can learn how to unlock an iPhone 3G if you follow the steps below.

To unlock an iPhone 3G you will need the following:

  • iPhone 3G
  • TurboSIM Card
  1. Locate TurboSIM Card. The TurboSIM Card is the main component when unlocking your iPhone 3G. You can look online to find a company that is selling one, do the proper research to make sure you are purchasing from a legitimate person or company. They can be bought for around ten dollars.
  2. Find SIM Card slot. After you have obtained the TurboSIM Card you will need to locate the SIM Card slot at the top of your iPhone 3G. You can use a paper clip to push the little button inside the hole located on the SIM Card cradle. The cradle will then release and pop open.
  3. Position TurboSIM Card. Place TurboSIM Card inside of the SIM card cradle. Make sure it is placed in the cradle so that it is positioned the same way it was with the previous SIM Card that was removed. The SIM Card cradle should be shaped just like the SIM card, this will let you know if it is positioned correctly because it will be a perfect fit.
  4. Insert new SIM card. Whichever SIM Card you plan on using from the current wireless carrier will be inserted on top of the TurboSIM Card. Position it so that the six leads that stick out will make contact with the conductors on the previous SIM card. You may have to cut the card slightly to get the correct fit depending on the card that you purchased.
  5. Place SIM and TurboSIM back inside your iPhone 3G. Turn the iPhone 3Gback on. Your iPhone 3G will not have any service when it is first turned back on, just wait a couple minutes. Give the TurboSIM card a chance to do its job and connect the way it needs to. After waiting a few minutes you will have service and will be able to make calls using whichever wireless carrier you have chosen.
