Learning how to unlock main screen of an iPod Touch is important if you want to take advantage of this feature. The feature allows a 4-digit security code that you will be able to use in order to stop others from using the device. Take the following considerations into account to learn how to unlock the main screen of an iPod Touch.

  1. Enter the 4-digit code. This is of course the easiest way to unlock the main screen. If you remember your 4-digit code it will unlock the iPod Touch.  If you enter the wrong code too many times, or forget the code, however, you will need to use the following steps. The system may lock out when you start entering incorrect codes.
  2. Unlock your iPod Touch by connecting it to your computer. The iPod Touch should become unlocked when you connect your iPod Touch to the computer you normally sync your iPod Touch with to update the device. Disconnect the iPod Touch to see if this has worked.
  3. Restore your iPod Touch at last resort. Finally, you may have to restore the device if the two previous options do not work for you. This method will restore your iPod Touch to factory settings, which means that you will lose all files and songs on the device; hopefully you have these backed up if you must restore your iPod Touch. Simply go into iTunes and select "Restore" under the "Summary" tab within the "Devices" section. Go through the process and you will have your iPod Touch restored and unlocked.
