How To Unlock Your Screen On An iPod Nano
If you've locked your screen, it's crucial to know how to unlock your screen on an iPod Nano. The "Screen Lock" is a feature of most iPod Nanos which is used to protect your iPod's music and other information from other people. If you've enabled screen lock, it means you have input a four-digit combination code. There are three ways to unlock your screen on an iPod Nano.
- Input Screen Lock Combination. The easiest way to unlock your screen on an iPod Nano is to enter the screen lock combination. To do this, use the iPod pad to cycle through the numbers for each digit of the combination. Once you have selected the right number, press the center button to get to the next digit. If you enter the correct four digits of the code, your screen will unlock.
- Plug iPod into Primary Computer. If you don't remember your screen lock combination, use a USB charger to plug your iPod Nano into the iPod's primary computer--the one where your iPod got all of its music and data. This will charge and sync songs to your iPod Nano. It will also unlock your screen on the iPod Nano when you unplug it.
- Restore iPod Nano to Factory Settings. The most drastic step involves erasing all the data from your iPod Nano. Only use this option if there's nothing else you can do to unlock your screen. To restore your iPod Nano, plug it into a computer using a USB charger. When iTunes starts, select your iPod Nano in the left column. Click the "Restore" button. Remember that this will erase all of the information from your iPod and you will have to upload all of it again. Luckily, it will also erase the screen lock combination and you won't have to deal with it again.
These are the only three options to unlock your screen on an iPod Nano. Whenever you use the screen lock option, you should write down your combination or make it something easy to remember, like the last four digits of your phone number.
