If you have access to work out equipment, but have no idea what to do with it, then you might need to know how to use a home gym. Using a home gym can save you valuable time and money. You won't have to leave your house to work out or shower and once the equipment is paid for, there is no monthly investment.

  1. Begin with a stretching routine. Stretching is not just for yoga anymore. Part of getting the body you want is gaining flexibility. By stretching before and after a work out in your home gym, you can teach your body to become limber and strong.
  2. Get in some cardio training. Even if you have the biggest muscles in the world, you won't get very far if you don't have any stamina. You need to train your body by doing at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular training per day. You can do this by running on your home gym treadmill or by riding an exercise bike. If you have a swimming pool, that is another great option for getting in your cardio.
  3. Build those muscles. Work your chest muscles by lifting a barbell while lying on your bench press. Work our your shoulder muscles by standing up straight and using a pulley machine. Work your legs by doing squats or using a leg extension machine. Don't forget to work your abs by doing crunches with the help of an exercise ball.

With just a few key pieces of equipment, you can use your home gym to create the body you desire. Have patience and work each and every day and you will reach your goals.
