Learning how to use iTunes is one of those things that can actually be a lot of fun. If you are interested in learning how to buy and organize your music then this is a good use of your time. It is somewhat hard to know how to use an iPod without also knowing how to use the music program that goes a long with it. With the introduction of iTunes managing music has become easier and easier. All you have to do is follow these simple steps to become more knowledgeable about iTunes.

To use iTunes, you will need:

  • Computer
  • iTunes account
  1. To open up iTunes double click the icon on your desktop. If you do not have any songs in your iTunes library you can purchase them by going to the iTunes music store panel on the left hand side of iTunes. Choose the song that you want to purchase and click "Buy." Once it has been downloaded it will automatically be added to your iTunes music library.
  2. To edit the information of a song right click on a song. Scroll down to the option that says "Get Info." You can now add album art and edit the name of the artist or song the way that you want it to appear.
  3. If you are interested in listening to all of your music on iTunes use the "Controls" option. This will allow you to shuffle, repeat and change songs. You can find this option on the toolbar at the top of your screen.
  4. In order to sync songs from iTunes onto your iPod just connect your iPod using a USB cable. Wait a few minutes until a sign pops up where the apple logo normally is that says "finish syncing." Your songs have now been transferred from iTunes to your iPod for use.
  5. Create a Playlist in iTunes. Go to "File" at the top of the iTunes toolbar. Select "New Playlist" this will be the first choice on the drop-down menu. This will create a new playlist that you can name.
  6. From your iTunes music library, select songs that you want to add to your newly titled playlist. Right click on the song that you have selected and scroll down to where it says "Add to Playlist." Select the name of the playlist that you just created to add the song to it.
  7. Add songs from a CD to iTunes. Insert the CD into your computer and a window will appear asking if you would like to "Import the CD into iTunes." Click on where it says "Yes" this will now import all of the songs from your CD into your iTunes. Importing takes a few minutes so wait until all of the songs have finished importing.

Using iTunes is fun because there are so many different features that you can uncover. Essentially you will practically never stop learning how to use iTunes.
