How To Use Wireless Internet
Wireless internet is a great addition to any home which is why it's always handy to know how to use wireless internet. Many people think it’s going to be hard to learn how to use wireless internet. The good news is that it really isn’t as hard as most think.
- Make sure the computer is wireless ready. Most new laptop computers are already set up for wireless Internet. Some of the older ones don’t have a card for Internet built-in. If this is the case, then one will have to be installed in order to use wireless internet. Some cards are easy to install, and there are even USB versions that are easy to use with wireless Internet connections.
- Turn on wireless. If the computer has a built-in card, then it may just need to be turned on. Most of the time, there will be a switch on the computer that lets the user know if the wireless internet is on or not. There may also be a light that turns on when the wireless card is being used. If the computer is a desktop, chances are the wireless card was installed through a USB or a wireless card. If this is the case, it may need to be adjusted to find the right network for use.
- Find the network. The next step is to find the right network for the user's wireless Internet. Depending on the year of the computer, this may be slightly different. For most it will be pretty simple. The user will need to click on the wireless symbol. This is normally at the bottom right hand corner of the computer screen. When it’s clicked, a list of available wireless networks will come up. The user just needs to find the name of the one he or she wants to use. Once it’s found, the user can click on the network and connect. The computer may ask if the user would like to add the wireless internet network as an auto connect. This is a good option for a home wireless network that the user will be using a lot. Otherwise, it’s not a good idea to add it this way.
- Start surfing. After the network has been added, the computer should connect without any issues. The user can then start surfing like a champ on the big bad web. Using a wireless Internet network is really not hard at all. The user just needs to connect to the right network and he can start doing the internet thing. The user should take some time to make sure he has the best network connections and the best cards for the job. This way he will be happy with the speed of the network as well.
