How To View Private Profiles On Myspace

Figuring out how to view private profiles on MySpace can be tricky if you are new to the site and still finding your way around. If you are fairly new to social networking, it's understandable if you've never had a MySpace profile before. Private MySpace profiles are those that are viewable only to the profile-owners "friends": that is, the people who they have added to their network on MySpace. To become someone's friend and gain the ability to view their private profile on MySpace, you will need to send them a friend request. To become someone's friend and be able to see their private profile on MySpace:

  1. Visit the person's private profile on MySpace. There, you will see a button that reads "+ Friend," along with a notice that some information is hidden and viewable only by that person's MySpace friends.
  2. Click the button and follow the instructions in the dialog box. You will have an option to add a personal note. Adding one may be a good idea, since most people have a specific reason for creating a private profile on MySpace in the first place. You may also have to provide information that proves that you actually know this person, such as their full name or outside email address.
  3. Wait for the owner of the private profile to approve your friend request. You will be able to check under the "Friends" menu on your MySpace page. Your request will show as a pending friend request until it is approved.
  4. Once the request has been approved, head back to your new friend's private profile. You will now have the ability to view all of the information that was previously hidden.
