Curious about how to watch Netflix on your computer? One of the greatest things about Netflix is its Watch Instantly feature, which allows you to immediately watch movies and TV shows online through a compatible computer. Netflix has thousands of movie and television show choices available to watch instantly, and this feature is included with every level of Netflix plan. How do you watch Netflix movies on your computer? Follow these simple steps.
- First, make sure your computer is compatible with Netflix's Watch Instantly system. If you have a Windows computer, it must have Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Vista or Windows 7; Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Firefox 2 or higher; a 1.2 GHz processor; and at least 512 MB RAM. If you have a Mac, it must have OS 10.4.8 or later; Safari 3 or higher or Firefox 2 or higher; and at least 1 GB RAM.
- If your computer is compatible, log in to your Netflix account and click on the "Watch Instantly" tab at the top of the screen. Here, you can browse movies by genre, check out new arrivals and get recommendations on movies you may like based on your previous movie ratings. In addition, movies already in your queue that are available to watch instantly have a blue "Play" button next to the title.
- When you find a movie or TV show you'd like to watch, click on the blue "Play" button. You will automatically be prompted to download and install the free Netflix Movie Viewer software. Follow the instructions on your screen to launch the player.
- The faster your internet connection speed, the better the quality of your video will be. Instant watching of titles are available at several different levels of video quality, and Netflix automatically determines the level you receive based on your current internet speed.
