To water a Christmas tree, you will need:
- Water
- pan or container for the water
- Get a container that is about three to four inches bigger than the circumference of your tree trunk. Fill this container with cold water and place the container under the tree. Avoid using hot water as this will cause damage to your Christmas tree. You should try and keep the container halfway full and check the water level several times a day.
- Maintain the water level. After the first day, you can check the water level daily and make sure that the container is always at least half of the way full. Trees can absorb as much as a gallon of water in as little as 24 hours, so make sure that the water is never too low. If the needles on your tree begin to fall off this is an indication that your tree is not receiving enough water. To fix this just add more cold water to the container or pan.
Being able to water a Christmas tree is the easy part maintaining the tree and keeping it alive is the harder part.
