How To Wear A Jean Jacket

If you love wearing denim, you may be wondering how to wear a jean jacket. A good jean jacket can be a staple in your casual wardrobe. However, wearing one incorrectly can make you absolutely un-dateable.

  1. Never wear double denim. You should only wear a jean jacket with clothing that is made of materials other than denim. There is nothing worse than wearing a denim jean jacket with denim blue jeans.
  2. Make sure your jacket is up to date. If your jean jacket is more than 10 years old, you will look very outdated when you wear it. Vintage is one thing, but just plain old is another.
  3. Don't wear buttons or any other kind of flair on your jean jacket. You will look like a throwback to the 80's. The only time you should do this is if you are going to a costume party dressed as Punky Brewster.
  4. Wear your jean jacket over a hooded zip up jacket. This gives you a nice casual layered look that is great for fall. You can wear both of these items over a plain t-shirt. Just remember, don't wear this with blue jeans.
  5. Don't wear an acid washed jean jacket. If you want to look like you live in this decade, make sure your denim jacket is not acid washed.

By following these tips, you should be able to wear your jean jacket with style. Create several looks and get the opinion of another person before trying them out at the bar or the club.
