How To Wear A Winter Scarf
Learning how to wear a winter scarf is an absolute must if you live in a colder climate. Mens scarves have not only become cool, hip and trendy, but they are also very practical. They keep the wind off the back of your neck, and they trap the warm air under your coat. Of course, the problem with wearing a winter scarf is that many men simply do not know how to wear them, and the whole outfit ends up looking awkward. This is when a little bit of advice on how to tie a scarf can come in handy.
- Just let it hang. The first option when you wear a winter scarf is not to tie it at all. Just throw the scarf over your shoulders, and let both ends hang in front of you. Be careful when going this route. It really is only a good choice with shorter scarves.
- The loop. If you want wear your winter scarf so it is both fashionable and warm, then this is the knot for you. Fold the scarf in half lengthwise; the free ends will now meet at one end and a loop will form at the other. Draping the folded winter scarf over your shoulder, pull the free ends of the scarf through the looped end. Pull tight, and wear it comfortably.
- The knotted scarf. Many men prefer to wear their winter scarf this way because it provides a classic look; and, when tied correctly, it can be a fashionable knot. First drape the scarf over your shoulders, making sure that one end is about twice as long as the other. Next, wrap the long end of the winter scarf around your next. Tuck that end of the scarf up and over the loop surrounding your neck. You can wear this type of knotted winter scarf either with a coat, or just with a hat and gloves.
