How To Win A Martial Art Fight
It would be too late to think about how to win a martial arts fight if you're faced with a fight. However, if anticipating a fight, you can be prepared with a little effort beforehand and see that preparation pay off in victory. As the old saying goes, "The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in war."
- Training is the most important thing you can engage in if you want to win a martial arts fight. If facing a martial artist opponent, having at least a basic knowledge of proper punching, kicking and blocking techniques will be vital. This can be done by yourself initially through the use of books, DVDs and the internet, but for advanced training and belt qualifications, you will need to attend a martial arts school.
- Engage in regular exercise to help build strength and stamina. This includes weight training, calisthenics and cardiovascular workouts such as running, sports drills and jumping rope, all of which help build muscles, improve coordination and boost stamina, allowing you to participate in rigorous activity (i.e. a martial arts fight) for as long as necessary to ensure victory.
- Improve your focus to win a martial arts fight. Part of martial arts is anticipating your opponent's moves. This is done through keen focus and noticing subtle shifts in weight and posture, eye movements and so forth. This type of training is primarily learned through experience but can be taught faster by using a variety of puzzles, games and video games designed to improve attention and focus.
- Practice sparring if you want to win a martial arts fight. You cannot expect to jump into a martial arts fight and win without ever having participated in any type of sparring. Sparring helps encourage faster thinking, faster decision-making and better coordination for attacks and blocks.
- If all else fails and you find yourself in a fight with a martial artist, there is always the option of fighting dirty. Tossing a drink in your opponent's face can give you enough of a break in the action to flee. Fleeing is another thing made easier by regular exercise to boost stamina and endurance.
