- Select the "Options" icon on your BlackBerry Curve by highlighting the icon and pressing in on the trackball. This will advance you to a list of available options.
- Scroll to and select, "Security" from the available list of options. This will take you into the security settings on your BlackBerry Curve.
- Press down on the trackball. This will pop up a sub menu. From the sub menu scroll to and select, "Wipe Handheld" and the click on "continue"

After approximately five to ten minutes, the home screen will come back on. Until then, a small hourglass will continue to spin on the screen. If this happens the screen will display a white screen with an error code like "Error 553." If this happens, you must reinstall the operating system before you can use the Curve again.
