How To Wipe A Blackberry Curve

1. Select the "Options" icon on your BlackBerry Curve by highlighting the icon and pressing in on the trackball. This will advance you to a list of available options. 
2. Scroll to and select, "Security" from the available list of options. This will take you into the security settings on your BlackBerry Curve. 
3. Press down on the trackball. This will pop up a sub menu. From the sub menu scroll to and select, "Wipe Handheld" and the click on "continue"
4. Type "blackberry" into the popup box with the keypad. This prevents the possibility of wiping a Blackberry Curve by accident. Your BlackBerry Curve will power off and then power back on. After approximately five to ten minutes, the home screen will come back on. Until then, a small hourglass will continue to spin on the screen. Do not pull the battery during this process or you could risk corruption of the BlackBerry operating system. If this happens the screen will display a white screen with an error code like "Error 553." If this happens, you must reinstall the operating system before you can use the Curve again.
