Independence Day Dessert Recipes

Here are a few Independence Day dessert recipes to help wrap up your celebrations this year.

Bald Eagles: this is a fun recipe that’s surprisingly easy to make and will look impressive on the Independence Day dessert table.

What you’ll need:

  • 12 Chocolate Covered Oreos
  • 12 Large Marshmallows
  • ½ Cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 12 Cashews
  • 1 Cup of Shredded Coconut
  • 1 Tube of Black Cake Decorating Gel

Directions:

  1. Melt the White Chocolate in a double boiler.
  2. Dip one of the marshmallows and roll it to coat. (Use tongs or other utensil, as the chocolate will be hot.)
  3. Remove the marshmallow from the chocolate with tongs and roll it in the coconut to coat the tops and sides.
  4. Place the marshmallow on top of the Oreo and allow to set.
  5. Make a small hole near the center when the marshmallow is cool and place the cashew to form a beak, then using the gel add two black dots on either side for the eyes.
  6. Repeat for the remainder of the marshmallows. 

Red, White and Blue Sundaes:  Everyone loves sundaes and this one is easy, fast and works well as an Independence Day dessert.

What you’ll need:

  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Strawberry Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Blueberries
  • Red Sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Place a scoop of ice cream in your chosen serving dish.
  2. Top with strawberry syrup, blueberries, whipped cream and sprinkles. It makes a festive Independence Day dessert.

Berry Patriotic Cheesecake: This is a colorful and flavorful twist on an old favorite Independence Day dessert.

What you’ll need:

  • 16 Oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 ½ Cups Blueberries, divided
  • ½ Cup Strawberries, halved
  • 9 inch Graham Cracker Crust
  1. Preheat the oven for 350º F.
  2. Combine the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Beat the eggs and combine with the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Fold in two cups of the blueberries.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the center is nearly set.
  6. Cool and refrigerate until the cheesecake is completely chilled.
  7. Top with whipped cream, remaining blueberries and halved strawberries.

Tip - You could also use a strawberry or raspberry syrup to add a little more red to the presentation of this lovely Independence Day dessert.
