For music lovers, there are many iTunes alternatives that offer either lower prices or a more personalized listening experience. You don't have to be limited to the record shop in the mall anymore; the internet offers a vast selection of digital music stores that carry everything from The Beatles to Bach. 1. Amazon MP3 is a popular iTunes alternative. Amazon MP3 generally offers lower prices than iTunes, while still maintaining a very respectable catalog of music. Amazon MP3 offers over 15 million tracks in a seemingly endless variety of genres, from gospel and Christian music to indie rock and alternative. The music store also frequently provides free daily downloads.
2. Rhapsody is a well-known digital music service that has been in operation since the winter of 2001. Rhapsody is solely available for American listeners. The subscription-based store also offers individual MP3s at 256 kbps. The store's music selection is composed of approximately 11 million songs. 5. SoundsBox is an affordable iTunes alternative online music shop. The service features a broad range of music and requires all users to register before purchasing music. Before buying songs, users are able to listen to brief track previews. Electronic gift certificates are also available.
