Jet Blue Destinations
JetBlue destinations run the gamut from secluded beach islands to densely populated cities with nonstop entertainment. JetBlue is a domestic carrier known for their affordable fares and good service. Most of JetBlue's destinations are within the United States, but they also fly to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and as far away as South America. Here are some of the JetBlue destinations that are sought after by vacationers around the world.
- New York City "The Big Apple," "The City That Never Sleeps" and "Center of the Universe" are just some of New York City's nicknames. New York City is recognized worldwide as a financial, fashion, nightlife and entertainment powerhouse. In 2010, New York City welcomed 48.8 million tourists. These tourists come for Wall Street, Broadway, Fifth Avenue and Times Square. Any city that has so much to offer has to come in as number one on our list. JetBlue services both New York City's La Guardia and John F. Kennedy airports.
- Providenciales While New York City is all frenetic energy, Turks and Caicos is all powdery white beaches, clear ocean waters, cabanas and cold tropical drinks. A British crown colony, Turks and Caicos is made up of 40 islands and cays, of which Providenciales is the most developed and visited. Those looking to get away from everything can head to the North and Middle Caicos islands. More than 200,000 tourists arrive annually for sun and relaxation. Unless you like having your vacation ruined by strong winds, avoid the hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. JetBlue has nonstop flights to Providenciales from New York and Boston.
- Nassau More developed but less expensive than Providenciales is Nassau, a part of The Bahamas. Located on New Providence Island, Nassau is the capital of The Bahamas. Nassau has the big resorts and cruise ship crowds, so it's perfect for those who want a beach vacation but want some exciting city attractions and nightlife. The most well-known resort in Nassau, the Atlantis is so huge and comprehensive that it functions almost like its own city. The Atlantis is one of JetBlue's favorite resorts and the airline frequently provides exclusive amenities and savings for fliers who book a package that includes a stay there. JetBlue has nonstop flights to Nassau from Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, New York City and White Plains, New York.
- Cancun Cancun is famous for rowdy, drunk spring break revealers, but it has so much more to offer. Nearby are ancient Mayan ruins (Tulum, Chichen Itza and Coba) and small fishing villages (Isla Mujeres, Cozumel and Playa del Carmen) that provide visitors with a taste of authentic Mexican village life. JetBlue frequently has vacation package deals for both Cancun and Riviera Maya, a tourism district south of Cancun, from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. JetBlue has direct flights to Cancun from Fort Lauderdale, New York City and Cancun.
- Los Angeles Rounding out the top five JetBlue destinations is Los Angeles. Los Angeles gets a bad rap for its sprawl and traffic, but dig a little deeper and you'll find a city full of neighborhoods populated with boutiques, cafes, top-notch restaurants and, yes, people walking. The key is to know where to go and to avoid the freeways during high commute times. Get out of the car and explore Melrose Avenue, Third Street between La Cienega Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, Rodeo Drive, Sunset Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. Nearby cities such as Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach provide the classic California beach experience.
