As it's a popular way to workout, kickboxing benefits have become well known. Kickboxing is an aerobic exercise that combines martial arts, aerobics and boxing. It has become such a popular workout that there are kickboxing classes all over the country. Kickboxing DVDs are also popular. Kickboxing benefits increase the more that you do it and the intensity at which you do it.

  1. Weight loss  As it's a powerful cardiovascular workout, weight loss is one of the best kickboxing benefits. The exact number of calories that you burn depends on your own size and length of exercise sessions. If you do kickboxing three to five days per week for up to one hour, you will likely see the scale go down. You can likely burn at least 350 to 450 calories per hour.
  2. Stress Relief  Punching and kicking can make you feel less stressed out. When you're feeling tense or angry, do some kickboxing and get out your aggression and frustration.
  3. Self Defense  Another kickboxing benefit is that it teaches you self defense moves. This is especially beneficial for women. Learn to punch and kick and perhaps it will help you one day if you end up in a compromising situation. This also leads to a greater feeling of confidence.
  4. Flexibility There is no need to practice yoga to improve your flexibility. One of the best kickboxing benefits is that it improves flexibility greatly. All of that kicking and punching stretches out the muscles and allows you to have more range of movement.
