His ideas are those of the new generation of musicians, and Kid Cudi songs are some of the best in the modern hip-hop industry. Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, also known as Kid Cudi, is a rapper originating from Cleveland, Ohio. Kid Cudi often has music that samples both contemporary Midwestern hip hop and psychedelic music to form brilliant, top-selling tracks. The best Kid Cudi songs represent his genre, his soul, and that of a cultural movement.

  1. "CuDi Zone". As one of the best tracks on his debut album "Man on the Moon: The End of Day", "CuDi Zone" is really the cream of the crop. The track takes a look into the genius of Kid Cudi, all while spitting out intense raps.
  2. "Soundtrack 2 My Life". As one of the featured Kid Cudi songs on "Man on the Moon: The End of Day", "Soundtrack 2 My Life" received widespread fame and critical acclaim. It is regarded as one of his best. The track is a great introduction into the life of Kid Cudi.
  3. "Dat New New". From the mixtape "Lost in Space", this track has received widespread attention from fans of both psychadelic hip-hop and Cudi in general. "Dat New New" is an intriguing prelude to what is to come from Cudi's two studio albums.
  4. "Pursuit of Happiness". One of the three singles from "Man on the Moon: The End of Day" (along with "Day 'n' Nite (Nightmare)" and "Make Her Say". When the song develops into what Kid Cudi expects from his life, it's understandable that we are all in a pursuit of happiness.
  5. "Day n' Nite". Officially entitled "Day 'n' Nite (Nightmare)", this song made it into the mainstream without much effort. The song has sold over 2 million digital downloads in the United States, enticing listeners with its lonely, sensual tones and Kid Cudi's masterful lyrics. "Day 'n' Nite" is from "Man on the Moon: The End of Day".
  6. "Sky Might Fall". An excellent, lyrical summary of the average pothead's attitude towards overwhelming panic. Kid Cudi elaborates about the world, its dangers, and how he feels unconcerned about the endless rainstorms around him. "Sky Might Fall" is off of the first "Man on the Moon".
  7. "Memories". Featuring the well-known David Guetta, "Memories" is an excellent genre-twisting single. Nonetheless, it is very similar to that of "Day 'n' Nite", especially concerning the mellow vocals and lonely background music. It peaked in the top 5 in many European countries such as France, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands. The US Billboard only saw "Memories" reach 46, the lowest out of any Western country. "Memories" was released on David Guetta's fourth album "One Love".
  8. "CuDi Get". A nonsensical, frivolous song touching on everything from the police to slavery. "CuDi Get" can't help but have the cowboy, bad-boy feel that accompanies many other Midwestern singles out there. This track is from the 2008 mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi".
  9. "Maui Wowie". One of the more 'feel-good' Kid Cudi songs out there, "Maui Wowie" is a great dedication to Mescudi's favorite past time. Just listen to it a few times; it'll be hard not to join in: "Going back to Honolulu just to get that, that Maui Wowie!" The song is from "A Kid Named Cudi".
  10. "Enter Galactic". A futuristic, wondrous intrigue of a Kid Cudi song. The track elaborates on imagination, its purpose, and that of companionship. Scott has really outdone himself with this song, brining a totally new sound and feel to his music. "Enter Galactic" is from Act III of "Man on the Moon: The End of Day".

Kid Cudi is a brilliant rapper, poet, and musician. Mescudi's songs have dominated the mainstream, but will he be agile enough to adapt himself to different sounds? That remains to be seen. Until then, he enjoys a hearty base of fans worldwide who love his music just the way it is.
